Michael D. Tripp
Lawyer and Trade-mark Agent

As a lawyer and trade-mark agent, Michael Tripp has represented clients in diverse industries, from mining to medical devices on matters ranging from going public transactions to dispute resolution to financings. In addition, Michael has extensive experience dealing in finance, securities and corporate governance for clients.  He has a Bachelor of Arts (Philosophy) and a Bachelor of Commerce (Global Business) from Saint Mary’s University and a common law degree and a civil law degree from the University of Ottawa.

André Carroll

André Carroll is a bilingual associate at Tripp | Business Law who also provides high quality and professional service and will guide clients and their businesses during everyday transactions as well as the commercial growth process. Specializing in tax related law, as well as corporate and commercial law, Mr. Carroll started with the firm this year, after attending the Taxation program at H.E.C. Montréal.

Mr. Carroll was called to the New Brunswick Bar in 2014 and is now a member of the Law Society of New Brunswick, the Canadian Bar Association and the Association des juristes d’expression française du Nouveau-Brunswick (AJEFNB). He also assisted with the latest edition of the AJEFNB’s Legal Guide. Mr. Carroll attained his Juris Doctor after completing a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance, both from the Université de Moncton.

Originally from Grand Falls, Mr. Carroll has extensive experience in taxation and finance, having held an internship in the Tax Law Practice Area of the federal Department of Justice, working as a Tax Auditor for Canada Revenue Agency, as well as a Research Assistant in the Faculty of Law at the Université de Moncton. He was also heavily involved in his university community, having served as the president of the Faculty of Law students’ council and as a member of different committees through the Faculty of Law and Faculty of Business Administration.

Mr. Carroll was also a recipient of the 2013 New Brunswick Branch Excellence Award from the Canadian Bar Association, and the 2012 Clément-Cormier ’73 Merit Scholarship.

Jim Cunningham

Jim Cunningham is an associate at Tripp | Business Law and is known for providing high quality, professional service to clients. With a focus in the areas of general corporate and commercial law, trade-marks and related intellectual property, residential and commercial real property and entertainment law, Mr. Cunningham was admitted to the New Brunswick Bar in 2015.

Mr. Cunningham attained a Bachelor of Arts with a major in English from Mount Allison University, and a Juris Doctor from Schulich School of Law, Dalhousie University in 2014. Now a member of the Law Society of New Brunswick and the Canadian Bar Association, he has also volunteered at the provincial MLA level and acted as a Board Member of the Artists Legal Information Society in Nova Scotia from 2012-2014.

Mr. Cunningham is especially building the firm’s entertainment law portfolio, having several years of experience working as tour management for several notable Canadian artists. In that capacity, Mr. Cunningham ensured artists were paid and treated in accordance with contracts set up between agents and talent buyers. He also travelled internationally, acting in a management/liaison role between artists and management, publicists and other professionals.

Kevin Moreau

Having graduated with a Juris Doctor degree from the Université de Moncton, Kevin Moreau joined Tripp Business Law in May 2015 to complete his articles. Previously, Mr. Moreau attained a Health Science Diploma from the Université de Moncton in 2010 and a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology (B.Sc.Kin.) in 2012 where he graduated with the highest GPA of the 2012 graduating B.Sc.Kin class.

From Moncton, Mr. Moreau is also fluently bilingual and is a member of the Association des juristes d’expression française du Nouveau-Brunswick (AJEFNB). He’s also involved in the community, acting as a student representative on the City of Moncton’s Public Safety Advisory Committee (PSAC) since 2012.

Mr. Moreau has already proven to be a confident and intelligent team player and has many accolades. He was part of the winning team at the annual Ottawa-Moncton moot competition, was part of the Top Francophone team at the 2015 Gale Cup Moot, and also placed second at the 2015 McKelvey Cup. Mr. Moreau also won the McInnes Cooper prize for the highest standing in Tax Law and the Stewart McKelvey prize for the highest standing in Business Corporations at the Université de Moncton.

Pierre-Luc Michaud

Pierre-Luc Michaud is the firm’s summer student and has already proven to be a hard-working and dedicated member of the team. A Dieppe native, Mr. Michaud is fully bilingual and has an educational background in finance. He attained a Bachelor Degree in Finance in 2014 from Université de Moncton, and is currently a Juris Doctor candidate at Université de Moncton.

Mr. Michaud also studied for several months at École Supérieur de Commerce in Amiens, France, adding international context to his business studies, as well as cultural experience.
